Who we are

LNZRFC is New Zealand’s very own rugby club here in the heart of London which exists to provide visitors to London – mostly, but not exclusively, young New Zealanders – with the opportunity to play rugby, and to foster the friendships that rugby brings and become part of a proud history dating back to it's establishment in 1926. The club is run along strictly amateur lines by its members and volunteers.

The 2010-2011 season will see LNZRFC fielding two teams with our 1st XV playing in the London Division 2 Competition and our 2nd XV playing in Division 1 of the Middlesex County RFU Merit Competition.

Our members are

• Generally aged between 22 and 35
• Active young men, interested in a variety of sporting activities, personal fitness and training
• Active young men, interested in the social life London offers
• Solvent – all work hard to get the most out of their overseas experience
• Dedicated travellers
• Mobile phone and e-mail users
• Living in rented accommodation in West/North London

What we can offer

• Wide exposure to the Kiwi community in London.

Although our numbers are relatively small, the flat-share lifestyle creates much wider networks than at home. As you would expect, rugby players have a high profile in the community. Special events, such as our annual ANZAC Rugby Challenge event Day, drew a crowd of 3000 people In 2009. We also hold Hangis and socials throughout the season which are usually attended by well over around 500 people.

• Exposure to the Kiwi community worldwide.

There are thousands of ex LNZ players all over the world. Many use our website as a means of keeping in touch. There are regular reunions in New Zealand and Australia. There cannot be a club in New Zealand that does not have at least one ex LNZ player as a member.

• Brand loyalty.

Players appreciate the generosity of sponsors and give their full support to them. Word of mouth is still the greatest source of information for new arrivals.

• Access to tickets.

Access to tickets for the major rugby matches played at Twickenham, 6 Nations and International Tests.
